    Narvik in Gold

    Finally!

Not the best condition, but it has character and I have been waiting for a very long time.

    Ol Snaggletooth

    A close up.

CupAl and surprisingly lighter than my Heer and Luftwaffe shields, but it might be related to the backplate material.

Tim, is this design credited to any known manufacturer? I don't believe it's a Deumer or a Deschler. I have a couple of reservations, but Pascal will probably clear it all out .

Nice original Narvik Tim. Yours has the same double strike as mine.

              Hi Don,

Yes, the double strike was interesting and I believe Pascal has the same traits on one of his too. Beautiful shield BTW!

The condition isn't bad, just a couple of nicks towards the top that are distracting under magnification, but you're right--I can't complain with this one!

It will go nice with these other two.

All very nice and of course original shields shown here.
This type is as Frank calls it the snaggletooth type because of it typical beak.

There is mentioning in the literature that this type of shield was made by Juncker. There is however no proof for that but until proven otherwise I also call this type the Juncker type.

Typical of this type is also that the wings don’t touch the bar.

                    Thanks Pascal!

Hopefully I can meet up with you and Frank in Stuttgart in April and really get some good hands-on training on some of these shields! I got this one maker down, but others still confuse me without being able to hold them in person.

I passed on several other pieces over the last couple of years (mostly Deumers) and am glad I waited. Just goes to show, that paitence pays off in the end. Though it may cost a bit more down the road sometimes, you get what you want.

                    Thanks again guys,
                    Tim

Pascal, thank's for clearing that out, the feathers were one of my concerns.

Tim, I guess this type escaped my radar, something new to learn every day
