    Magnetic Krimshield?

    Hello,

Sorry to ask a dumb question, but are all Krimshield magnetic?

And an other question, would you say this one is made of zinc or of metal sheet?

Thanks for helping me learning about those shield.

      Hi Soviet,

By far not all are magnetic, there are also zinc Krim shields. I would say that yours is a magnetic steel example. It is by an unknown maker.

I agree with Frank that not all original Krimshields are magnetic. There is even a type of shield which is known only in zinc.
By studying the Krimshield I am now under the impression that the zinc type is the earliest type of the Krimshield.
As for the one you have shown I am almost 100% certain that this shield is magnetic because I only have seen once a zinc example of this type.

Wow merci Pascal! This looks very different than mine. I wonder what do you use as a background to do your pictures. It looks very nice with the black background.

I don´t know how Pascal does it but an easy way to do it:
Use your scanner when it is dark outside in a dark room. Open scanner hatch all the way up and scan. If you cleaned your scanner suface well enough from dust, background will be pitch black.
                Cheers, Frank
