    Narvik and Krim shields help

    Hi guys,

Can I get some assistance with these, I am about to do a trade for them and would appreciate confirmation or otherwise of originality.

    Regards

          Hello Steve,

At first blush I don't like the looks of either one. Can you give us a few more close ups? The Narvik looks as though it is cast. I see what look like casting bubbles but can't tell for sure. The Krim on the other hand bugs me but I can't say why I don't like it. It's just a niggling that says not right. Hopefully some more experienced folks will weigh in soon for you.

          Gary

I have another opinion then Gary, IMO both shields are original.
The Narvikshield is the so called Deumer shield with the closed area between the eagles head and the wings.
The maker of the Krimshield is unknown but this type of shield stood model for the Floch copy. The cloth on the Krimshield is of course not original.

Hi Steve Narvik looks good (although a closer look at the eagles head would be helpful) Krim is a nice original but as Pascal says with a replaced backing. All the best

Exactly as I thought, so called Deumer type of shield.
