I have had many Lappland shields, but never seen this variation. Any ideas? Its in aluminium .

Hi Schönbeck, I have not seen one identical to that before. The great problem with these is (as you well know
) the time frame and production methods used to produce them. Almost anything can go given this.
This one does look to be convincing. I don't know if it would be possible to say with 100% certainty if it is original or not? If it had some kind of provenance with it, that would be great
If not, you are down to "gut feeling" and being happy with it yourself. All I could say is if you see more of the same type being offered, there might be a greater chance it could be a copy?
Sorry I cannot add anything really useful for you, other than my few thoughts. It is a very interesting award.
