    Wurster Demjansk...?

This Demjansk shield, that seems to be quite close to the design attributed to Karl Wurster (?), shows a small flaw in one of the eagle's wings (see the pictures)... Is this something to be worried about...?
I am quite happy with it otherwise!!
    Thanks...!
    Best Regards,

        Hi Mike.

Nice looking shield . I'm not so sure it's a Wurster though, check some of the spots I've marked.

Thanks, Peter! Yup, you are right - it is apparently not a Wurster-made shield! Dare I ask if anyone recognizes any possible maker...?
            Cheers,

              Hi Mike,
I know this type of shield and I don't like it. I have seen a few of this type for sale but none of them at any of the good dealers .
Here is the same type from miliweb.

Hmm... Thanks Pascal; you are right, this is uncomforting...!! However, holding it is so hard to believe that the shield wouldn't be genuine... And, to try something like "maybe this might be the shield used as a model to make the xx-copies" feels far-fetched. But, I still maintain that it has something that makes me feel, well, ok... I would never have bought the example from miliweb, though...! So where does that leave me...?
                Best,
                Mike

                  Hi Mike,
I don't have this type in my collection so I have to base my opinion on only the pictures I have in my database.
To be honest there is nothing I like on this shield. All the typical characteristics of the Demjansk shield are bad, without detail or even wrong!!
Take for example the row of logs on the left side.....

To my knowledge all the original Demjansk shields have 7 logs on this side instead of the 6 on your shield.

I will post an original shield what I believe stood model for your shield.
