In brass and on the backside lead.
The 3 pins in copper are all broken of.

......Without provenance it would be impossible to say anything other than Junk. You could always accept it as a curiosity.

I only know it comes out from and old collection and the shield itself looks like it is wartime made..

Considering the shield showing a long M and the awarded shields had a short M, I am more inclined to think this is post war than period field made.

I'm no expert on these shields but I have to correct you on this, for a fact both versions with long and short M could be correct.

Not what I am saying. IMO only short Ms were awarded, long Ms not. So I would think a period field made copy would be one of a short M not of a long M.

But interestingly enough, I believe the official '57 version copied the Long M design. I'm no expert on '57 awards and own only one original WWII Long M, but that is my understanding.
