Differences in figures on award cases

    Hello,

I have noticed that there can be found a difference in the eagle's on the award cases for the commemorative medals ( for example the award case off the medal 1. Oktober 1938 )
I have found 2 different types off eagles untill now on these award cases.
Are there other members who have also other style off imprinted eagles on this type off case ?

I will post pictures to show the differences.

    Friendly Greetings,

My Czech Occupation Medal cases display the same types of eagles as shown in your pictures #1 and #3. My cases for the Austrian & Memel Awards have the type of eagle as shown in your picture #2. Two of these red cases I own are maker marked to Hauptmuenzamt Wien III. I do have a red case with an eagle very similar to picture #2, but slightly different. I guess I would have to say that the eagle looks a little less detailed, the eagles head looks a little different, and the wingspread, wreath, and Hakenkreuz look a little smaller.
        Best regards!

          Hello,

About your case for the memel occupation medal, can you post a picture off it please ? , i have never seen such a case => and in my opinion these cases are just added pieces off a 13.03.1938 medal .

Your right. My Memel Medal case is identical to the Austrian Occupation Case. There is absolutely no difference between the two that I'm aware of. Forman's book idicates that the Memel Medal came in a red case. I think I read it in Angolia's book as well. You may be right that the case is simply an add-on from the Austrian Medal, but on the other hand, since the majority of Czech and Austrian Occupation Awards were issued with cases with the medals having pin-mounted ribbons, I think it only logical that the Memel Medal was awarded in a case as well. I do not have a digital image of the case at this time. I will try to borrow my friend's digital camera and post images of all the cases I have at a later date. Basically, my case for the Memel Medal looks just like your #2 photo. Best regards!

              Hello,

Thanks for the answer , untill now i have never seen a case that was 100 % sure matching the memelland occupation medal .
Indeed iff we look at the other 2 medals ( 1 okt. en 13 märz ) they came cased, but howcome that we never see a cased set for sale ?
It is possible in my opinion that both case ( 13 März en Memel ) where identical ?? , who knows ?

              Friendly Greetings,
