      Hello Christopher (detphoto)
Where did you purchase the observer badge? Was this a dealer of awards? Who is the crook? Thanks, Gary

        Good morning Gary,

Thanks for your inquiry. I am a full time dealer in militaria and I advertise locally. The fake Juncker badge was purchased from a young man who answered one of my ads and told a story about selling some Nazi material for his uncle. He had a printed list and about twenty items, all high end. Each of the items had a clipping from an old catalog attached, describing the piece along with the original price. Even though he was offering to sell them at a reduced price, many of the pieces were out of budget, so this is the one I went for. I examined it under a loop and liked what I saw. Obviously, I didn't have enough knowledge and didn't exercise enough caution. I was taken in by an elaborate story, a good looking badge and the prospect of making a profit....shame on me. I hope this story helps you and any other Forum members.
My advice is "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is".

        Best wishes,
        Christopher Scheiwe

                Hi Rodney,

Thanks for your kind E-mail, it's nice to know I'm in good company.

                Best wishes,
                Christopher

PS: detphoto is short for Detroit Photo Imaging the name of my wife's first company. The business doesn't exist anymore, but it was the first E-mail address I had. I just kept selling more and more militaria and now with 500+ positive feedbacks, I don't want to loose the recognition from the valued collectors I have had the pleasure of serving these last three years. Thanks again to all!

                              Good morning Gene,

Thanks for your scan. Your Assmann eagle looks identical to the one on my FAKE C.E. Juncker, shown above. What puzzles me, is what kind of wreath the fakers used on mine, it sure doesn't match yours. Could it be a reworked wreath or a wreath from another maker? The strike is very strong, down to the micro detailing on the acorns. I would appreciate any help. Thanks again.

                              Best wishes,
                              Christopher

                                Chris,
Look again, please. The eagles bear practically no similarity at all. Look at the eye area of your fake compared to mine. The overall style of eagle on yours is very clunky when compared to an original too.
