JFS still in production !!!!!!

Hello,


I have found today that the firm off " Josef Feix Söhne " is still in existence !!!!!!

This firm was originaly founded in Gablonz an Die Neise .
After WWII this area became Tzech territory ( now it is called Jablonec ) !!!! , and many ( about 18000 Gablonzer German's did move to the city off Kaufbeuren .)

These homeless Sudetengermans did found ( in 1946 !!! ) a total new city on the grounds off a destructed Amunitionplant near Kaufbeuren.
This little city near Kaufbeuren was called Neugablonz and there the firm off JFS is untill today still in production !!!!!

Mayby we can make a list and try to find out wich firm's did survive the war, etc...

These companies have been picked clean by Atkins and other professional dealers years ago. The only firm still making medals and decorations is S & L. Still, its interesting to see that some of them surviced the war and have manaed to make it into the 21st Century.

One sad note though, Overhoff & Company folded in the fall of 1999 - most of their stock is now in the hands of Siegmund Stephan and is being sold on eBay.

It would be interesting to see if the companies would still have any archive information on the award pieces as far as metals used, numbers produced, different dies (known flaws), etc. Has anybody asked for that kind of information?
