I answered a call on one of my ads today and saw a group of war souvenirs that a man had from his father-in law's estate. There were a number of nice medals and badges, including 2 close combat clasps. One was the silver R.S. and the other a bronze JFS. What struck me was the JFS CCC was unlike any I have seen before. The raised JFS was on the opposite side, near the catch and the other information was impressed, not raised, on the hinge side. I have not seen this variation of JFS CCC before, and have no reason to suspect this one badge out of about 30 pieces of militaria the father-in-law brought back from Germany in 1945. Otherwise, the badge had the crimped in hinge and catch, just like other JFS CCC's I have examined. Has anyone seen one like this? I know other collectors have made offers on these items. I made an offer on the lot of items and will probably get this lot after the other 7 or 8 guys who advertise make their offers.
