Can anybody tell me the history behind the Jager pin that was affixed to the left side of the m43 cap? Was it all troops or just officiers that wore it and were there any specific requirements to wear it? When was it incorporated into the Army?
Jaeger troops were formed in 1942 and same year they accepted both cap badge and sleeve patch to be worn. All ranks in Jaeger divisions and also in independent jaeger battallions wore these badges and patches.
