German Defense Medal?

Did such a medal exist. I got one in trade. Non magnetic and bronze colour.
Says FUR ARBEIT ZUM SCHUTZE DEUTSCHLANDS on reverse and has German eagle over shovel,sword and wall at front. No maker marks.

Okay, thanks. I read about medals being handed out during Rommel's rebuilding Western Defences. Perhaps this is it too. Anyways the medal described is what I have.

yes its a west wall medal. was given out to men and soliers who helped build the defenes of germany. they were made of zinc and brass plated. there is also another version of this medal that was handed out at a later date
