    found ring, please help identify

Hello all, I am posting this for a friend who dug this up here in Canada, and we are trying to place a dateto it. Are we correct to assume this is a Patriotoc Ring of the First War? Just not sure. Is silver, and marked "800" on the back. Would it have been worn by military or civilians? Thanks all,
    Joe

    Hello Joe,

I've seen a few of these around at various dealers who sell imperial items. They have always been sold as patriotic rings.
The last one I saw was going for US$60.00

Thats about the limit of my knowledge there.

    Cheers and Roo

Appears to be a patriotic ring from ww1, possibly worn by a low ranking soldier or someone’s close family member. Items like this are not uncommon, once someone was awarded the Iron Cross they could purchase anything from paper weights to ash trays decorated with the Iron Cross and other imperial insignias.
