Royal House Order of Hohenzollern - Knights Cross with swords by St&L

    Hi everyone,
I’ve added a couple of single mounted medal bars recently.
Besides a beautiful single mounted non-combatant Ek2 (42mm), this one is my favorite of the bunch.
The St&L made Royal House Order of Hohenzollern - Knights Cross with swords.
While these Royal House Order of Hohenzollern crosses are not easy to find as a St&L postwar version, it becomes much more difficult when searching for a single mount cross. It’s a real beautiful piece that look wonderful next to the St&L Pour le Mérite.

    Thanks for looking,
    Alex

Top quality group. Postwar S&L at its best.

Prettiest award (next to the PLM) of WWI in my opinion!

Thanks for your feedback. I also think it‘s one of the prettier awards of WW1.
St&L did a good job in carefully aligning the six different parts of the cross.
Certainly a nice quality imperial award of the postwar period.

Some of you might also find it interesting to see the postwar St&L Royal House Order of Hohenzollern - Knights Cross with swords in an unassembled state. This is an unfinished set with five of the six parts. The crown attachment is missing.
Even though not in completed form, it‘s still interesting to see the individual parts.

                    Regards,
                    Alex

It really is interesting to see it dis-assembled Alex...thanks for that!!
Not only do we see how it all fits together, but we also see just how much work has gone into the piece!!!

It certainly was a lot of work to assemble this Hohenzollern KC. I‘m sure due to the extensive work Mr. Preuß of St&L surely asked quite a bit for these pieces. I would have to check my pricelists - maybe I‘m able to find out...

                          I'm impressed

It's very hard to find a postwar S&L HOH... You have got 2 (3)...

I think I need to get back with searching some new pieces for me now
Thank you for inspirement, Alex !!!

It’s a wonderful match that fills in nicely between the Military Merit Cross and the Pour Le Merite in my collection.

Nice to see that the imperial postwar pieces are appreciated. There are many more I could show ...

                            Best regards,
                            Alex
