RK with oakleaves, swords and diamonds with case

    Hi,

I just got this interesting cased RK with oakleaves, swords and diamonds.

The RK seems to me like a later S&L B-core and D-frame with non magnetic core.

The case I think also is a later S&L variant.

The oakleaves, swords and diamonds I know nothing about. But I believe they are not S&L made. Probably fake, post was Souval, jouvelier made etc.

    Always appreciate your comments.
    Thanks
    /Jonas

    Hello Jonas!!!
I think you are correct with your thoughts on the RK!!
A later made S&L cross, 2nd pattern core, with "D" frame, the frame looks better than most "D"'s, as it doesn't look like it has the typical "sandblasted look of most later frames, so could be an early example of that type of frame?
Looking at the frame, I first thought it was a "C", it looked that good, but there doesn't appear to be any of the "C" frame flaws!!!
The case looks typical for a later S&L, and is probably original to the RK.....was there any ribbon???
    The core is nicely painted!!!
The Oaks, aren't Souval, they look more like S&L's design, or something based on the S&L design, possibly a casting from an original set??
    Strange positioning of the "Diamonds"!!!

I think, if I were you, I might separate the Oaks from the RK, and buy a replacement loop!!!
Its actually a nice looking RK for a later piece!!!!!!!

Thanks for you comment Matthieu. I'm not sure what you mean here. I guess you want to say that the case is an original S&L? What about the RK, not good?

            - Cross : good, but later ( modern ) variant
            - Ribbon : fake ( = modern production )
            - OLS : probably good and later less finished version, but looks like a butchered / home-made diamond version
            - Case : mid-production case ... for me, this is the nicest item in this made-together bundle
