Here are the two globes on the S&L. The first (like on your badge) is nicely made and unflawed while the second has wider lines and production flaws. All of the second type are considered post-war.

As always, great information and images!

Maybe we should all post our badges, along with the rear hardware so we can get a timeline for the Globe flaws, as they would not have all occurred at the same time. Here is my 1960's example which has a solid hinge block and tapering pin.

Maybe we can create a timeline for the Type 2 Globe flaws.
