Looks like maybe the last 3 nazi era medals were missing from the bar so they stuck on 57'ers to make it whole again.

Maybe not necessarily so but that's the impression I got looking at the bar first time.

You mean it is a wartime bar that was either updated by Seebohm or messed with by somebody else? I don't think so. The medal bar was mounted post-war (using the original decorations for # 1 -5 and the 57ers for # 6 - 9 and the EK II clasp):

Note that the medals are in the order of precedence for the FRG. Under the order of precedence valid during the Third Reich, the KVK II would be mounted right after the EK II and the Ostmedaille after that (before the Hohenzollern order).

Two things I just noticed, though: The devices for the long service awards on the 1957er ribbon bar are for the 12- and 4-year grade rather than the 25- and 12-year grade (as seen on the medal bar) and there is no ribbon for the 1914 EK II (the ribbon is for the EK I with 1939 clasp).

I also believe it a bar assembled in the 57er period!
The materials used, and the type of assembly are consistent with those found on bars from the postwar period I think.
There are no holes on the long service ribbons where the eagles would have been if it were TR period, or at least non I can see.
The ribbon bar for sure is 50's/60's!!
It looks to me as though a new bar was made, and his original Imperial awards were added to it, alongside the "new" 57ers....
        Great bar either way!!!!!!!!!!
