Unseen pin device

Have you ever seen such a pin device on a 57er?

Hi Andrew!!
It looks like a 2nd style pin, that has been flattened more than usual at the top end??
Not sure how it happened, but I guess, rather than bin the pin and get another, they used it anyway...it is still functional!!!
