    Hello Green,
this is a typical piece from souval, they are rare and also exists with swords in gold.

For me they are a little bit enigmatic.

You could use golden oakleave for example for a pour le merite but for what a golden oakleave with swords (without brilliants) should be?

    best regards

Well spotted, Pattex. Indeed these are attributed to postwar Souval, I have some (silver) examples in my collection.

This version, you mean ? FYI, this particular version is the half-hollow version. Very well made !

And then you have this version as well ... the blueprint to make the silver and gold version with diamonds.

                  Hello Mathijs,
I mean the very rare hollow version in gold with swords, made from 800 silver.

For what was it used from your perspective?

                  best regards
                  Pattex

I have made a comparison ( # 7) , but I am sorry, I do not see any similarities with mine...IMO compleet different.

The front of this Oakleave (picture # 6) is indeed almost a blueprint of mine

Looks like there is a bit of confusion concerning Souval oaks here.

Green, as for info on the oaks you have shown.... they are later (mid 1960’s+) made Souval „semi-hollow“ type oaks.

Here for comparison is an early L/58 marked solid type oak set - they are also found unmarked on Souval RK‘s that pre date the 1957 Rk‘s - so, some of them are very early postwar made.

Maybe I have misinterpreted the photos., but its clear to me now......thank you

I hope someone has a similair type to show....Gold & semi hollow. I have looked everywhere and just find one! An incomplete Oakleave (loop is missing). I do not know if this one has a Gold finnish. Are they that rare?

Correct, the ones I've shown ( raw + diamond version ) are probably not Souval made.

Do you know where those gold finnished Oakleaves (without swords) are made for....maybe for the Pour Le Merite? I have read that after 1918, they used these types of Oakleaves for the PLM. The later Oakleaves in silver for the Knight Cross of the Iron Cross.
