Denazified (?) Wound Badge

What do you think about this badge? It dow not seem to me a denazified badge but the hardware is clearly wartime, isn't it?

Wartime setup and hardware yes ... if this is denazified, great job !

I do wonder if this started out as a wartime silver badge, which got a postwar gold coating though.

I have tried to compare with other photos whether the swastika could have been where the finish is missing but it seems it couldn't have.

Possibly this was a TR silver example, denazified and gold coated???

Looks to be a late war zinc example by that maker, which has been de-Nazified and refinished in Gold, what the original colour of the finish was is hard to say!!

If it is a factory finish, shall we say that this maker "officially" made denazifing for veterans? This finish definitely looks a quality job and the wear on the badge suggest that this was worn many times, not so?

I don't think there is any evidence of the Austrian Mint (Hauptmunzamt) of Vienna making any WB's postwar, nor do I think it's present condition is a factory finish....
The badge was probably well worn, both wartime in original condition, and postwar, after de-nazification.
I would think the removal of the Swastika and subsequent gold finish would have been the work of a jeweller, as it looks very well done??
