    Imperial Wound Badge in Gold

    Gents,

I consider this example as a copy / fake but do you think it can be a post war example? It somehow does not seem a cheap / poor quality copy to me...

    Thanks.

    Hi Andrew!
Firstly, I guess its a matter of opinion if such a badge made by S&L is really any different to any other post WW2 made copy???
Possibly to collectors, such a piece, if made by a recognised maker of 57ers and vets replacement pieces, would be more acceptable, rather than one by an unknown maker which would probably be considered a copy or fake??
I would think that very few such pieces would be needed by the remaining WW1 vets of the time, and most were made for collectors, irrespective of the maker??
Anyway.....from what I recall, this design does not match that which is the accepted S&L design?
It does however look to be well made, detailed and finished!!!

It doesn’t match the S&L made imperial wound badges of my collection.
