    Gents,

There is another type of pin device, what do you think?

    Thanks.

I remember Steve posting a couple of these, with the same wide pin/ open hingeblock/ thick catch combination!
Steve thought Assmann to be the maker I think??

Actually I have bought those, this comes from somewhere else. These are definitely not ST&L, I suppose.

Wide pin would say Souval, but I'm not convinced this is genuine.

The hingeblock on the gold that Andrew also posted looks like an early Souval too?? Not sure on the combination with a roundwire catch though??

Andrew....Is the pin magnetic or non magnetic.....as S&L used one type, and Souval the other

              Hello Guys,

              The pin is not magnetic.

This WB design does not match the pre-WW2 S&L design.

It is unquestionably the Assmann design (the stock is the most obvious giveaway), as depicted in period sales catalogs.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

                    Thanks Mike!
That ties in with both Steve's original thoughts some years ago, and the combination of hardware on both of these pieces, a mix of S&L & Assmann....the round catch on the Gold version really had to be Assmann!!
