      Hello Nigel,

I am not sure, the badge is not mine. From above it looks pretty wide, I would recon open hingeblock.

One thing that seems a little strange is the roundwire catch, not usually found on many S&L pieces, especially later ones?
The design does seem to match the one I believe S&L made, though Assmann (among others) could also have used it, details seem a little soft, but I don't think they were too crisp on these pieces
More photo's would be helpful I think!

            Thanks Andrew!
With the combination of S&L style pin and hingeblock, combined with a roundwire catch, I think Assmann is the most likely maker!
A similar combination is on this Assmann SWB.......

There are 2 of this type on Falco Militaria website, one gold and the other black. I wasn't sure if they were authentic replacements or just reproductions.

Some new photos, unusual hingeblock, isn't it?

                  Nigel,

Please have a look at the hinge block, what do you think?

                  Thanks.

t looks very similar to an early Souval style, as used on this blank core, the rest of the hardware though looks S&L or Assmann.......
