    Souval?

Hi all, in fairness, this is being sold as a reproduction, iron core, to me it looks like a Souval KC, would I be correct, any comments appreciated
    regards

Even though the pics are rather poor, you are correct. It‘s a Souval RK. The case is not.

Hi Alex, thought it was, age? Looks to be unmarked, so not silver but nickel silver frames maybe, as for the case, the outside shape looks different but the inner looks like part of a standard de-luxe souval he had, I have an original souval de-luxe, I understand he had more than one style, presumably a economy one, regards

Looks like postwar Souval KC, not sure on the ribbon though.
Case seems strange, has some Souval looks, but not entirely convinced.

Yes, the inside very similar, the outside too rounded corners, the fastener not normal souval,

Hard to date this cross due to the poor pics. I believe I see some flaws on the corner of the 1813 side.
As for the case - indeed the cases used by Souval over the years changed, however this is not one of the cases Souval used. The outside texture is wrong, the push button style and also the lid insert are different and not matching. It might look similar to the Texler (later supplier of Souval‘s cases) case design, but it‘s not.

Hi Alex, "Texler" cases, nice to have a supplier name, any chance you have an image?

              regards

Here is a picture of a Texler made Etui. Souval used this type in the 1960‘s - early 1970‘s. Notice the different texture pattern without even comparing the different push button or other details. This size of case was also used for the RK of the Iron Cross and RK KVK.
Sometimes the Texler made Etuis can be found manufacturer marked on the bottom side. I do have marked examples but no picture on hand.
Texler supplied Souval with Etuis for many different awards and decorations, during those years. From the ones in my collection I know they made Etuis for the RK of the Iron Cross, RK of the KVK, the German Cross, the German Order, the German Red Cross Decoration 2nd model (1934-1937) Breast Star and various others I can‘t think off right now.
