The HSF is negative.....sunken below the surface of the die
The Eagle is positive...standing above the surface

The die for the HSF is neither S&L nor Deumer (also not Assmann) - the simplest thing - the number of bull eyes is different.

        regards

Yes, you are right, I've just checked my S&L HSF, and it is different, the waves were the first thing I noticed!!
Assmann normally got their dies from S&L, and as you said, it doesn't appear to match the Deumer either!!
So....is it an unknown maker, another die from a known maker, or a fake??

I don't know. Allowing for differences in image resolution and the fact the die is negative while the badge is positive, I think they look quite close?

I flipped the die image in these comparisons with the badge images.

                      Best regards,
                      ---Norm

All those mini dies look like they're in positive? So if real they would have to be hubs used to make negative working dies?

                        Best regards,
                        ---Norm
