I aint no expert on these PLM's, but the eagles look kinda funny.
However, looks like the case might be a winner ...

Unfortunately the pics are rather poor. The best thing about this set is definitely the case. These are rare to find and cost quite a bit by themselves.
Can‘t say anything on the ribbon due to the poor pics.
The PLM looks to be a S&L made piece, but the details on the eagles are weak. Look at the body and legs of the eagles....
The ring is also wrong on it.
If it was me, I would pick a nicer and even earlier set.
      They are out there

      Regards,
      Alex

Its a strange PLM Steven, looks to have many if not all of the traits of an S&L, but the quality is just not there....
Never seen eagles with such lack of detail and definition, despite the 800 mark, it looks nothing like a Silver piece, which are usually of very high quality, and I am used to seeing the 800 mark on the edge of the lower arm, not the loop!!

I have no doubts about it being a S&L made PLM. However the quality leaves much to be desired. Unfortunately it’s not the first S&L PLM with poor eagle details.
The 800 marking at a different location than usual is also nothing uncommon with S&L products. For example, I have an uncommon bottom marked 800 B-frame RK.
So, the different location for a silver stamp is nothing that would worry me.
Never the less, it‘s not a PLM I would consider buying, unless the price is dirt cheap. The quality just isn‘t there for such a high class decoration.

I guess it's up to how you define dirt cheap.

Like I said earlier, the case itself makes this set worth quite a bit by itself. Of course „dirt cheap“ is to be understood in relation. I‘ve seen cased silver marked S&L PLM‘s sell for anything between 600-1200€. Due to everything mentioned in the above posts, the PLM in question shouldn’t reach these amounts - at least not for my taste.
Seeing that it‘s for sale as an online auction- everything is possible and I‘m sure it will never the less sell for a hefty sum of money in the end.
