Lot’s of nice and difficult to find stuff shown here. The Bavarian military medal and merit cross, the “Bloody Ludwig” and many more illustrated - are S&L made awards. Interestingly, non of the iron crosses seem to be S&L made.

Nigel, thanks again for taking the time to post the imperial awards. Many collectors don’t realize, that these postwar imperial medals are often more difficult to find than their period variants.
BTW: Did you see the large assortment of S&L imperial awards as well as a few 57ers that were sold on the “famous auction house” yesterday ?

Glad to hear you enjoyed seeing the Imperial pieces Alex!!
I agree on the rarity of many of them!!!!!
I did see those that sold recently, nearly bid on a few, but there were so many.... I would have loved to have made him an offer for the whole lot!!

An offer for the entire collection would have been a great idea, but as you said, they were just too many.
I was able to buy a few pieces but it still sucks to see such nice collections being broken apart.

As to who might be the maker of the PLM is a very good question. The only two companies that I can think off right now who actually still made the PLM in the postwar period is S&L and Rothe. It certainly doesn’t match any of those two.
The quality looks to be rather poor when looking at the eagles. The cross body and enameling however seem to be quite nice. I’m not entirely sure but the lettering design looks somewhat familiar.

Why is the year 1952-1953 indicated? After all, they were denazified in 1957

Remember not all pieces produced at this time were "57er's"
Only decorations that originally carried a Swastika and had to be re-designed without that symbol are true "57er's"!!
The civil PLM was re-established in 1952.....
The Red Cross series in 1953......

But Grubenwehr-Ehrenzeichen had a swastika. Why is 1953 indicated?

I believe that is referring to the BRD Mine Rescue medals series (a new design), but as you said the medal in the pic is the 57 version of the old TR Mine Rescue medal, minus eagle & Swastika
