    Ehrenblattspange der Luftwaffe

Another one crossed off the list.

Case/Ribbon and all other parts are UV negative. A total black out.

Ribbon appears to be war time.

Hinge is paper or cloth cannot tell for sure.

Splints are horizontal. Badge is on a long piece of ribbon width 30mm.

    Ribbon is 11 1/2 inches.

Now to find a Navy one.

I saw that one Wayne, and I wondered if you went for it!!!!
Its a great early set, and its also quite unusual........
All the other early halbetui sets I've seen have been the same for all 3 branches of the armed services, black base, and no lid liner......
Yours has a blue base, and a matching blue lid liner.....the only one I've seen like that!!!!
I think only the very early ones came in this hard case, soon to be replaced with the 2 part card box, with lift off lid.....this early type is much more desirable I think, and you did very well to get it, as they don't turn up too often!!
The clasp itself is a fine example with 4 prongs, crisp details and a nice golden finish!!!!
        TOP piece!!!!!!!!!!!

There's another one of these listed currently on ebay germany.

Two piece box. Seller says he doesn't ship overseas.
