    Close Combat Clasp / original

    Hello,

I meant: original??? Same source as the Infantry Assault Badge, somehow does not seem OK to me.

Pin and catch look typical for a 57.

Well it certainly looks better than the IAB!
        Only a couple of things......
The catch, is not too well formed, and doesn't appear to have been on when the bronze finish was applied.....
And the black paint on the front side of the separate inner plate
Maybe also the shearing on the edges of the reverse??

I don't have a later made CCC with which to compare, so maybe these are typical for later pieces????
It seems die struck, so should be ok, that would be my feeling!!

The clasp is really strange, because if applied after the finish, the soldering hasn't effected the finish at all. Too uniformly NOT finished to have had the finish rub off it. Weird.
