    57er 11-place bar

    Hey guys,

I could get this nice bar on ebay last week.
Could you help me with the last medal? Bulgarian?
    Hope you like it.

    Best,
    Stefan

Very nice, one question though, why is the German cross fifth across , instead of the first , before ek1??

        Hello Stefan!!
Firstly, its a very nice looking mini bar, and the construction of it all looks original and genuine!
The last medal is the Bulgarian WW1 commemorative medal, which seems a little unusual, as there is no other sign of WW1 service, but probably ok....
The real strange one, as already mentioned by Gary, is the German cross, it should be first on the bar if correct??
There are 2 possibilities....either he was a DK winner, but for some reason the bar was assembled with the DK in the wrong place, or the ribbon should have another war or qualification badge, which has been switched for a DK to enhance the bar????
Be really interesting to hear what some of the other guys think about this one!!!!

I‘ve already contacted the seller for the veterans name. Waiting for reply. I will let you know as soon as there‘s something new.

Very nice !! The DK in silver would rank below the combat awards IMO. Tom

I think it is suppose to be a Silver DK and for some reason he purchased the gold instead, as I believe it's in the proper position for a silver DK. Tom

                          Hi,

the correct Bundeswehr "ranking", based on the ZDv 37/10 from 1972:

                          - EK 1 (normally the backside is blank),
                          - Deutsches Kreuz in Silber
                          - EK 2 (the crossband is wrong here; that is, if necessary, for the 1st class),
                          - Nahkampfspange Silber,
                          - Verwundetenabzeichen,
                          - Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen Silber,
                          - Krimschild,
                          - Kubanschild,
                          - Winterschlacht im Osten (Ostmedaille)
                          - Romania "Erinnerungsmedaille für den Kreuzzug gegen den Kommunismus

The last medal is in my eyes nonsence; he would otherwise wear a "Hindenburgkreuz" before the Ostmedaille.
And I have a problem with a DKiS. That is for extraordinary merits in military warfare, and it has another design with the KVK in the middle. A DKiG must be before the EK 1.

                          Uwe

No-one else have any thoughts on this???
It wouldn't the first time we have seen the wrong device used on a mini-bar or a chain, I guess sometimes the retailers didn't have the correct one, and used the closest they had, in this case DKiG, instead of DKiS, but the wrong positioning is still worrying for me!!

I have seen plenty examples of postwar medal bars that had wrong positioning, 2x KVK or 2x EK ribbons next to each other, etc. Of course this was not in accordance to Bundeswehr regulations but let‘s remember, that it was not only BW Personal that ordered medal bars from retailers...
As for this Mini-Bar in question; I don‘t like it. A vet wearing the highly regarded DKiS would be wearing the correct DKiS miniature with the KVK device instead of the DKiG mini. The miniature above just looks like a DKiG miniature with worn off gilding - making it look similar to what a DKiS might look like.

                              Regards,
                              Alex
