    '57 ek2, ok?

Gents, What are your opinions on this EK2, please?
Any reason to doubt this one?
The suspension ring is my first question.

Not good .... seems to be one-piece soft alloy casting ... sorry.

Thanks fellas! Lookin' hard for one of these and they don't pop up that often (unless I'm looking in the wrong places.)

Anyways, is the suspension ring one of the things wrong with this piece? Am I mistaken or should it be just a tad lower and running through a hole in the frame? Just trying to get a handle on '57 EK2s. TIA
        Thanks,
        Eric Gaumann

This one is based on the S&L design, and the suspension loop is a little thick, but otherwise correct for that maker, Deumer's is mounted on a hump on the top of the frame, and Deschler was the only 57 maker to put the ring thru a hole in the frame!

            Ek2 ok?

Bumping this thread instead of starting another.
Gentlemen, do you like this 57 EK2? Seller says 'steel core' (as opposed to "magnetic".) I can ask for dimensions and weight if that will help.
            TIA. Eric G.

              Hi Eric!
No, i'm not too keen on that to be honest.......
The frame is not very well finished, it looks wider in some places and narrower in others, it could well be a genuine, if later S&L, but as there are plenty of nice 57 EK's from that maker out there, I wouldn't go for this one!!

                Thanks mate!

But I have to comment: "there are plenty of nice 57 EK's from that maker out there" Where the heck are they? Not just S&L '57 EK2s but any, legit. 57ers. I do a daily ebay search for German EK2s and I feel lucky if I see something like this once a month.
I see way more EK1s than EK2s that look good on ebay.
                Thanks,
                Eric Gaumann
