S&L Imperial replacement EK's

Picked up these two S&L made imperial replacement EK's recently. I especially like the small frame (42mm) EK2, as these are not easy to find. It seems they were only available for a short period of time. It may be hard to see in the pics but the cross has a nice frosted finish on the frame. Interestingly it came attached to a very long piece of 14mm EK2 ribbon.
The EK1 is a regular size variant (44mm). It's also a cross of the earlier postwar years - as it has a closed hinge block.

Two very fine EK's!!!
I really like the post WW2 made Imperial style EK's by both S&L and Deumer!!
Judging by the hardware on the 1st class type, I woukld think the small size was made from the 50's to the very early 60's, then the larger frame size replaced it, made through until at least the end of the 70's.
I think both sizes in both classes are quite scarce, and you have two nice examples there!!!
Assmann made the EK spangen, so its quite likely that they also made the Imperial style EK's to go with them, though I don't think one has been positively identified yet???

Personally I had some time ago an opportunity to get a nice 1914 EK, but it's far more later than yours.
I hope you wouldn't be angry for posting it here??

Thats a nice EK1/Spange combo Patryk!!!
Quite a few of these were produced by S&L in the early 70's, by that time mostly for the collectors market I guess!!
I have seen at one combo that was an earlier version, dating from the early 60's, but i'm not sure if it was part of an early production run by S&L, or a unique piece created for a special order??

I love the EK2s I have quite a lot of imperial EK2s but would love a post war example for my collection seeing all these S&L imperial made awards makes me want to add to my PLM and collect a few.

I think it's really interesting that these pieces are as scarce to find as they are. A period EK2/EK1 is so much easier to find than their postwar counterpart.

A postwar S&L Imperial EK is always a good addition to any S&L PLM.

I also love the postwar S&L 1870 EK2 variant...

Thanks Indeed both of these 1870 crosses are rare to find. The jubilee EK2 on a non-fighter ribbon is not easy to find. They were not very common even back in the days of the jubilee era.
The S&L 1870 EK2 is a post 1945 made cross. It was not very common to find these imperial crosses post '45 as mostly 1914 variants were needed as replacements.

There's an 1870 for sale on MFF, sadly the price is again outrageous.
