Nice to see them!!!!!
As you know, both are later pieces, but still scarce and for me, collectable!!!
In the late 70's/ early 80's, S&L produced a series of pieces which were variants, or non standard to the normal 57 design, I guess these were really for the collectors market, but still very interesting!!
These included the Gold RK to the KVK, Olympic decorations where the Olympic rings were multi-coloured, not white, the pinback version of the Fire Service Cross 1st class, and various badges and shields in finishes that were different/unofficial!!
The Gold KVK you have here in one of these pieces, and so should date to the time I mentioned, the Silver one looks quite similar, and could also be from approximately the same period, a comparison of flaws etc. may help you see which is the earliest?? I would think the Silver is earlier, as it has better definition to the arms and overall finish!!
Anyway, I like them both, while the Gold version should not be considered as a true "57er" for a vet, more a collectors version, they are both genuine S&L made crosses, and an interesting addition to any postwar collection!!!

I had the same feeling about "post 75" for them, but your explanation gave me many new infos !!! The Gold one is indeed a bit later - while made from the same die, it's a little more "plain" (I would expect early 80's in this case).
Anyway as you said a collectible pieces, as them seems to be very rare novadays (even very late pieces).
