        Hi,

        A couple quick items:

        1) There are post wartime produced Souval awards marked L/58.

        2) OLS we normally associate with 1957 era awards have a "smooth" unfinished reverse to the swords.

I will let others comment, hopefully Alex in regards to Souval production.

        Best,

        Jeff

              Hi Chris,

I have to agree with everything that was already said. The OLS shown above are not Souval made. The L/58 mark was added to a cheap casted piece.

A very good point made by Jeff is that all early Souval or S&L oaks had a smooth "unfinished" reverse. Later Souval Oaks were stamped in a semi hollow method.
In any way, none of the manufacturers made casted oaks.

Here for comparison is an early set of Souval oaks....

              Regards,
              Alex
