    Lappland Shield

Although not officially sanctioned they still produced them.

Every 57'er collection should include a Lappland Shield.

    Thoughts on this one please.

    I totally agree !!!!

You have a VERY nice looking example of S&L production !!!
(flaw beneath the "N" letter, and the shape of an isle on Baltic sea - Souval made that island more oval).

While it's difficult sometimes to date Arm Shields, your is an early one.

Here is mine for comparision. Mine is quite early too (somewhere in 60's), but later than yours (notice that your Shield have sharper head and feathers on eagle).

        Hi Wayne!!!
That's a nice looking shield, even though, as you said, not in the Ordenssgesetz!!
I haven't seen too many to compare, but everything about yours looks pretty early to me!!
Actually, I think that's the nicest example of the Lappland I've seen!!!!!!!!

Although the Lappland Shield doesn't appear in the Krantz or Geeb/Kirchner books of the time, it is illustrated in the Sedlatzek catalog.....

Here is an early made Souval variant to compare.
