A casting line is raised up from the edge of the medal, and has to be filed flat to remove it, hopefully from these pics you can see neither a raised line, or a filed area, but a gap between two separate obverse and reverse parts.........

        Hello Nigel,
I can't see any differences to a castline , please see attached picture

But it's ok for me, different meanings are the icing on the cake of a forum .

It is a very nice KVK and that is the main thing!

        best regards

              Why don't you believe me???
If you think its a cast line that's fair enough, i'm not wasting anymore time trying to convince you otherwise!!

Well, I believe its 2 piece, you believe its 1 piece, so theres not much else to say is there?

Totally false information. What is the basis for this claim ?
I have 6 Souval made KVK RK's in different variants. Each of them is made in 800 or 935 silver - none of them has a casting line, as these pieces were not casted...

Souval also offered a cheaper non-silver variant. I also have 4 of these KVK RK's. These pieces are made in the same way as Nigel's KVK and show a similar but even less noticeable seam line between the arms. Never the less it is also not a casting line.

                      Regards,
                      Alex

                        Chet
Thanks Chet. Indeed it's a wonderful looking KVK 1st class. It almost shows no age to it and gives a good idea of what a vet would have gotten back in the mid 1960's as a replacement piece. No wonder many of them replaced their faded/damaged wartime pieces with "then new" produced pieces.

                        Best regards,
                        Alex

comparative pieces, as you can see in my picture...

but how Nigel call it? Wasted time...

                          I quite agree.
