EK and Hamburgischen Dankmedaille on Weitze

Interesting mounted pair on Wietze update. Never seen a Hamburgischen Dankmedaille before. Not a 57er but a nice looking award.

Its nice Ray, and an unusual 2 place combo of EK2 and Hamburg Flood Medal, but IMO about double the actual value!!

Well, the bar is sold, so someone thought it was worth the money!
It was a nice combo, and I would have bought it had it been around 80 or 90 Euro's... I hope this doesn't set a precedent...a 2 place bar for 150 Euro's

Did a little research -

Medal for aid during the North Sea flood of 1962. Instituted on 8th May 1962 and awarded by the city of Hamburg. This medal was meant for flood relief workers who were not citizens of Hamburg, since, according to the Hanseatic tradition, these are not allowed to accept and wear decorations.
