Imperial observer and navy wound badge

Here are 2 pretty uncommon S&L made badges that just came in.

I think there has only been one example of this type observer posted here previously- the construction echoes the original badges just not as nicely done and evidently the die was somewhat corrupted by the time this was struck.

The navy wound badge is one piece solid and again strike is a bit muddy but they have taken the trouble to polish the highlights which is a nice touch- I don't recall seeing a solid 57er example of this award before.

    Hope you enjoy them

    Patrick

        Hi Patrick,

those are two very nice imperial replacement badges. I especially like the Observer badge. It's a very interesting badge that is made of three pieces in a hollow construction method. (Front, back and enamaled insert)
It has a typical St&L hardware with closed hinge block. The silver color tone is also typical for many of these pieces made before 1968. Indeed it's a very rare to find piece.
        Here is mine to compare....

        Best regards,
        Alex

Lovely enamelling on the observers, congrats gents.

@ Andrew; Did you also get the Walther Dahl photos from Steve? I would be very interested in those.

                      Kind Regards,
                      Nick
