Foreign postwar replacement awards - Italian Medal of Military Valor in Silver

Here is an Italian postwar veterans replacement - the "Medaglia al Valore Militare" (Medal of Military Valour in silver). This is an early postwar made medal made by S&L. The ones usually found are mostly of late production with "bubbling" on the surface finish. This one doesn't have these flaws and also has crisper details.
Interestingly S&L chose not to follow the Italian style of suspension and instead used the regular S&L style seen on most S&L made medals.
These are not often found in postwar production form, even though many German soldiers were awarded these medals.

    Best regards,
    Alex

          Great medal Alex
I really like these, and have a couple myself!
As you said, very interesting that S&L didn't use the original, Italian style of suspension, though I guess the "normal" type would be easier to produce??
I also have another postwar type, the maker of which, to me, is unknown!!
Here is an S&L bronze, alongside, the "unknown maker" silver..........

Thanks Nigel. I'd also guess that the regular suspension would have been easier to produce for S&L.
As for your unknown manufacturer - it should be a Deumer produced medal IMO. The polished cross highlight looks very nice.

            Best regards,
            Alex

I did think of Deumer myself, but I did'nt know if they made foreign replacement medals?? If it is a Deumer, I wonder what else they made!!!!!

Yes, there are lots of Imperial awards there, Navy Wound Badges, nice collection, haven't had time to list them though.
