    unknown german cross

    Dear all,
what do you think about this german cross?

From my perspective it could be a 1957 version of the cross that also has an unknown manufacturer in the pre 1945 version, mentioned in the book of dietrich märz.

    What's your opinion?

And perhaps - who could be the producer?

    best regards
    Pattex

A Deschler produced DKiG using late open hinge hardware. (Better noticeable on the other ebay pics of the DK)

      Regards,

Indeed, this is a version very hard to find, I've only handled two of them.

They are rather uncommon. Most of them are in a rather poor condition, as they not seem to age that well.

Definitely unusual to see a later production open hinge block on a Deschler DK.
My Deschler DK as well as all the others I've seen have closed hinge blocks.

Never seen an open hingeblock on any Deschler 57er, not that I can remember anyway!!
Deschler is thought to have only produced for a small number of years, way back in the early days of 57 production, while the open hingeblock didn't appear until the late 60's, so these two shouldn't really be found together???
Looking at the photo's, the assembly of the DK, especially the EK and wreath look less than perfect......
                      What can this tell us???
Could this be a later assembled piece, using some older, and some later parts??
                      -Very strange!!!!

Indeed, the golden wreath doesn't look well attached. The dark starburst plate doesn't seem to sit flush either.
So this DK uses late hardware and was poorly assembled. In my opinion it's a late assembled piece using mixed parts.

                              Thanks Mathis!!
Interesting to see both pieces have the same quite sloppy soldering around the catch!!!
