    Romanian Crusade Against Communism medal

Just picked up another postwar variant of the Romanian Crusade Against Communism medal. This time it's the variant with the "additional rays" on the reverse.
This medals also shows differences on the fingers of the hand which is holding the sword. Such slight variations on postwar medals are common on other medals as well (e.g. SS Long service medal) Souval and S&L were both making these with only slight differences in the details. The overall finish and feeling of the medal in the middle reminds me more of a S&L made product than S&L. I believe it might be very likely that the variant in the middle might actually be a S&L variant instead of a different reverse side die from Souval.

    Best regards,
    Alex

          Aaaahhh.....very nice Alex!!!
The Crusade Against Communism medal has always been one of my favorites, both for the design and the ideology behind it!!
I like all the variants, the Romanian original, the wartime produced German version, and the postwar types by both Souval and S&L!!
I have become a little confused with the different postwar Souval style variants, with differing combinations of obverse and reverse dies, with many small differences between them all!!!
But it does make for a great collection!!!
          Super pieces!!!!

Thanks Nigel indeed this medal is a very interesting one.
Generally speaking I'm very impressed with the postwar made Romanian decorations made by Souval and S&L.
