Very nice Nigel. A cased award is always fantastic. I enjoy looking at such group shots. I have a few cased awards of all my different collection parts from 57ers, foreign, imperial to swastika awards in cased form as well.

    Best regards,
    Alex

Didn't know where to start with cased pieces - there are far too many, so I just took a pic of one of my very favorite 57'er awards. The cased Souval/Rothe DKiG

                  Best regards,
                  Alex

A very special piece that one Alex, always love to see it, possibly the best 57 DK set we have seen???
Always difficult to pick just one piece from many nice ones, but I think that's a great choice!!!
Do we know if it is a unique piece Alex??? Are there any others out there?, I certainly haven't seen any!!!
                    A treat for the eyes!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Nigel ! Nice to see, that you are still just as fascinated by this set as I am. I just know, that I can't look at it enough
It's such a fantastic set with the Rothe company being involved.

The Vienna based companies were often helping out each other, so I suppose this DKiG was ordered through Rothe and supplied/made by Souval in the early 1950's.
I'm sure it is possible for another set to exist - maybe even a DKiS but so far I haven't heard of another set existing. To be honest, I believe chances are rather slim to find another one. For me with having an interested in Souval's post war business, this one really is as good as it gets.
Never the less, such fantastic "one of a kind" items are still out there - just think about the Souval blank core RK - made in the same time period and no one thought something like it does even exist.

By the way; Despite of this DKiG being mint in condition it's actually a worn piece. The veteran obviously treasured it very much and took good care of it.

                      Best regards,
                      Alex

                        Thanks for that Alex!!
I am not really a DK (or RK) collector, but some pieces just shout out to me!!
There are a few DK variants I really like , such as the 6 rivet Deumer etc. but if I could only have one 57 DK, I think this would be the one!!!
