        Hi Nick,

That is EXACTLY what my wife said the first time she saw the "stocked" cabinet!! She used different smilies too!

Thanks to both yourself, and Martin for the comments!

        Best,

        Jeff

A Little Update to the 57er Dream

              Hi All,

About 2 1/2 years down the road from this 2016 thread, I wanted to show what has become of the 57er collection. I have pretty much reached maximum capacity, and now just enjoy, instead of chasing awards daily. 57er collecting has been a great journey, and definitely the most fun I have had with any type of Militaria collecting. As I have often said, 57er collecting is more about relationships and luck, than the size of ones wallet. The best part of 57er collecting has been collecting many different areas, from badges to medals, to ribbon bars, to minis, to etc. Many friends have moved on from collecting, and they are sadly missed. I will continue to check in as much as possible, and I am always happy to assist if needed.

              Best,

              Jeff

                Very nice and well-displayed collection!

Mine has advanced slowly. I added some nice mini combos last year, the year before that I was deployed. The new German shipping rates are certainly going to put a big dampner on my collecting...I have found more and more sellers unwilling to ship to the US, and those who do, well, hard to pay 40 bucks to ship a single 50 buck stickpin overseas

Like you say...it's now up to luck and relationships to keep building the collection. I still love my minis, they're just getting harder to find!

                  Amazing

That is the type of collection to die for. Talk about dedication. Absolutely spectacular. Hope to one day have one like that. Mine is still piecemeal. Congratulations on an absolutely splendid display. Worthy if a museum!

Great to see you display the RK KvK more prominently and that you added one without swords. Kick arse collection this. There’s plenty more room to squeeze more stuff in you know.

I should have added that it looks like you have a 57er era wwi ek ii by S&L there amongst the beauties. Where did you find that? I would love to get one, but have no idea where to start.

Thanks Gents for the kind comments, it has definitely been a "labor of love"!

@Tony: I think the S&L Imperial EKII either arrived from Steve's collection or German ebay. Not really sure. Also, I definitely took your advice on the RK KVKs!

The bulk of the collection was purchased from WAF members, with German ebay being the next largest source. A few pieces arrived from dealers, primarily Thomas Huss in Germany, and Great Militaria in Sweden.

                          Best,

                          Jeff

Ironically my ek I of the same type came from Steve too.
