Steve, I'd love to buy most of the stuff you own, but not under these circumstances. That's an awful lot of knowledge going with you. Make sure you keep the pieces you love the most.

Thank you for your informative posts and general insight from your years of experience Steve. You'll be missed. I hope you are able to knock a few line items off your bucket list.

Sad news Steve, and very sudden, I know you have just bought several new items, some still on their way to you!
If its what you want Steve, then that's how it has to be, but I would recommend not rushing into selling up, take a while to think it over!
You can sell anytime, but once the pieces are gone, some you may never get back if you ever change your mind, so just be 100% before you take the leap!!
You could always concentrate on one small area of collecting, keep those and sell the rest? Its your choice, and if you go, you will be missed that's for sure!!!
        Good luck either way!!
        Best

Steve I agree with Nigel on rushing to sell. If you can I would wait awhile. Tom

Nigel/Tom I have to agree with your comments in the cold light of day.......

I have just spent the day cataloguing and pricing up my collection.......quite distressing really, I am beginning to question whether I am doing the right thing, as it almost brought tears to my eyes.....to make matters worse some 57ers I had ordered some days ago arrived today, including a lovely Assmann EK II spange, just to bring it home !

I think as some members have suggested that I take time to think this through properley.......I will need a few days, me thinks !.
So I must put on hold my decision to stop collecting and sell off my collection, sorry for any inconvenience caused.
To all who have pm'd me not only to enquire on the collection pieces but to give messages of support I thank YOU ALL !
Looks like I have been a bit of knob, crying wolf so soon !................
              Prost ! Steve.

                Steve.......
I am sooooo glad you are thinking it through!!
It may turn out you still want to sell up, but IMO you are doing the right thing by waiting, taking your time, its a huge decision!
I think at one time or another all of us have probably thought of selling up, we can become fed up with the hobby, with the prices, with the people, sometimes we need money for other things, or simply don't have the time or the passion anymore?
After reading what you said about how you felt when cataloguing your collection, it seems to me you have no lack of passion my friend!!
Post your new arrivals, enjoy them for a while, and maybe then have another think about things!!!
A collection like you have Steve, can probably never be re-built, once its gone, its gone!!!
Hope you are with us for a long ,long time as an active collector and contributor!!!

                    Hi Steve,

Great news, and hopefully you decide to NOT sell and remain as an active member in our little 57er village!!

                    Best,

                    Jeff

Very good advice from Nigel, think this one through Steve.

You're the reason I started collecting 57ers when you first showed them 3 years ago on WRF and I don't want to see you go my friend.

                      Regards,
                      Nick

Good thinking Steve. You don't have to keep buying items any more, but try to keep at least your BEST pieces if not all your collection. We're not just collectors, we are friends first & foremost ! Tom

Bad news Steve, I was hoping that you really wanted to sell the full collection to me at £200, as you mentioned..... J O K E

Just imagine that people are tearing apart your collection and all the passion and effort you have ever put into it was for nothing.....you shall never give for yourself.
