Demand will go down again with this sort of nonsense going on. As a newbee I've very grateful for the ability to buy fairly from the guys on this site. I've not been ripped off and (as I said to Matthieu in an email the other day), I'm very glad to have collected pretty much everything I want, well can afford anyway. I can always add things like 57er spangen and a DK or two, but with prices heading up its just too hard otherwise. Let the sellers like this have their half day, these crazy prices can't hold out for post war items. The community that collects them is no where near the size of the TR era community.

Skyhawk, I love the idea of making reasonable items accessible to the newbees. As I said, its certainly helped me.

I don't even look at the dealers sites anymore. Nothing there that is priced reasonably. Tom

Not dealer ( not sure though ), but this eBay sale today .... 605 Euro.
Seems to be vet owned 1957 KC ( "C" frame with 1st pattern core ), a reproduction etui and some pix / paperwork.

I'm not convinced this group is 100% legit - this vendor has some other dodgy looking pieces.

On the other hand, I'm selling my items way too cheap it seems .... from now on +150% ;-)

          Gents,

As it was an auction, it should have been asked whether the buyers gone mad?

I don't think so, the price was around £420 which is kind of OK, I think.

            Hi Mathijs!
I have to say, I don't see a problem, this wasn't a buy it now, so someone paid what they wanted to pay!
If it is an attributed RK, then its still cheaper than a BIG dealer would sell it for IMO?
Ideally it should have sold for a couple of hundred Euro's less, but, if its the real deal, then attributed pieces like this will be getting harder to find, no-one who has an attributed RK in their collection ever seems to part with them...myself included!!!!
If you can afford it, why not buy it, can't see them going down in value anytime soon!!!

Absolutely Nigel I do not see a problem with the price, a cased "C" frame RK has to be worth £400 on its own.
              Prost ! Steve.

                It is a "B" frame RK .

                  Isn't it a very early "B"- frame?

Anyway I liked the GdR paperwork very much. I've seen a lot of four similar sheets sell for €150 in an auction once! IMHO the price wasn't bad at all for a possible attributed RK.

                  Regards,
                  Nick

Of course its a "B" frame then it went very cheaply in my view, a bloody bargain attributed !
                      Prost ! Steve.

After doing a little digging, there could be a problem after all, though not so much the price, as the provenance!
In the last few months, the same seller has sold the following pieces......

And there are others too, either fakes, or genuine pieces that have been enhanced, or pieces with a dubious attribution......
From a seller such as this, any attributed piece should be treated with care, if not the "story" ignored altogether???
-He also currently has this awful cast DK with diamonds ( K&Q!!) As well as the 50's jewellers OLS with Diamonds we saw in the Diamonds thread, doesn't bode well for that set either!!
