    Post-war Luftwaffe Honor Goblet

    Hey everyone,

this cased post war made Honor Goblet came as part of a Souval grouping that included some LW badges. I'm almost sure though, that it was not made by Souval. As far as I was told in fact this goblet came from Germany and was made in the mid-later 1960's. I saw a non swastika variant at one time too. Those are probably more common and may have served as replacement pieces for lost or damaged wartime pieces.
Unlike the wartime produced goblets, these have the Iron cross and the eagles soldered on separatly instead of having them embossed.
This particular goblet unfortunately sufferd from damage and was repaired at the base area. Never the less I find that it's a very interesting piece.

    Best regards,
    Alex

                            Hi Alex!
I don't know about postwar made goblets, so excuse my questions!!!
What makes this a piece to be considered a "replacement" piece, rather than just a copy/ fake of a wartimer?
And.... I would have expected to see the swastika replaced by oakleaves, as on a 57 RK, EK etc. or omitted altogether???
Quality looks good, its a shame it isn't MM'd!!

Replacement piece or a Souvenir; Let me just call it post-war piece. I was considering the non swastika pieces a possible replacement. It fits into the time frame of replacement pieces. Also it's different in construction than the war time pieces, so I don't consider it a fake. But really, I don't want another replacement/fake discussion.
