      Same with S&L Paratrooper badges, hollow rivets are certainly postwar products.

      The tool mark on the pin also appears to be the 1957 scrape (typically found on 1957er version awards), so that is more evidence to support this example being a postwar S&L product.

        Here is the S&L DKiG of member 'George L". I would buy it if I could and I believe (can't speak for him, of course) that Dietrich is a fan as well.

        All we know for sure is that S&L received the order from the PKZ for DK's in July, 1944 and that very high quality versions with "4" on the pin appeared on "barter boards" shortly after the end of the war.

            Leroy, thanks for posting the pics from this thread. One of the things that I've liked about my '4' DK is that the gold on the wreath is nothing like 57's, but more what you'd see on wartime pieces. I posted the crosses side by side so you'd see what I was getting at, and there's more differences I noted in this thread -
