    Interesting....


    The measurements of mine cross is: 53 x 53 mm.

    And what about the weight - I can't tell you that, 'cause I don't have such scale...
    Anyway only I can tell that mine cross is made of a heavy (really heavy) material.

      Could you both post closeups of the Eagle from your crosses......no fancy angles, just square on if possible???
      If you have to wait for natural light, no problem!!

            IMO....same eagle, Steve's being a later piece, better cutouts on the earlier one, and several small dent like flaws on the gold edge border are visible on both pieces, more developed on the later one. We can see the crispness of the earlier strike are not so clear on the later one, the claws and feet being a good example!
            For me , both are S&L, it is possible that Souval could have used the S&L die or parts if they did make any of these at this time?? If not , then I believe both are S&L products, just separated by a period of time.

              Fair enough for me Nigel .......what is that on Patryks eagle on its shoulders, something behind that the eagle has been placed over ? I have only just spotted it with the new images..........

                Hi Steve!
                It looks like a circular area that is part of the body of the award, used to locate placement of the eagle. The eagle on Patryk's seems to have been placed a little bit too low, so not fully covering the circle??

                  No, the circle is too big. I have pointed it's area by red line.

                  Even if the eagle would be placed otherwise - the circle behind it would be still visible in any case. I think that this circle is just a part of "internal rivet" and the eagle is not glued. In my opinion our crosses has just different way of mounting the eagle.

                  btw I agree that both are from the same die - or from the same design, and from the same maker.

                      Here now are some pics of my example. After comparing and studying the piece I can without a doubt say that this variant is St&L produced.
                      It's a nice quality piece with fine cutout beak and good enameling.
