    Schleiser Adler 2. Klasse..............

Gentlemen, just obtained two medals for my Imperial/Weimar post war replacement collection of awards/medals........I show the first, a Silesian Eagle medal second class (Schleiser Adler 2. Klasse).....St u L made from the research I did here on WAF, a member showed a first class version some time ago which is identical to this medal.......except the first class is pin back, and probably much easier to identify as a St u L product due to its rear hardware !
    Prost ! Steve.

close up images.............it would appear that the "crescent" and "Fur Schlesian" are separate devices "glued" onto the main body of the award !
    Prost ! Steve.

      Hi Steve,

two wonderful replacement medals of the 57er period. Especially the slesian eagle is a beauty. I was bidding on them too but it went higher than I was willing to pay

      Best regards,
      Alex

        Thanks Alex !
I thought the went quite cheap, the two were sold together, I won them at just a shade over £48 (sellers images below)...............However I should of bid on the sellers Hanseaten crosses, they were also post war St u L versions, rare !
        Prost ! Steve.

            Great medal Steve!!
I always liked the Silesian eagle, great design, and of course the many variants that were available down the years, of which yours is another example!!
As you said, identifying the S&L made pieces, is made easier, after we have seen the pinback version!!!
I have seen at least one other type made in the 50's/60's, which I believed was by Deumer, but without a pinback version to compare the hardware, its difficult to be sure!!!
            Super piece!!!
