St&L first pattern "B" frame RK..............

Posting on behalf on member "Mustangstje " Nick, who has just got this lovely St u L "B" framed RK...congratulations Nick, a great find !

    "Hi friends,
Got this new cross in yesterday, an unmarked St&L first pattern "B"- frame RK.
After losing out on a Schickle RK, I spotted a large "konvolut" from a house clearance on e bay Germany. Crappy pics as usual, but I took my chances and it turned out to be a bargain!
Enjoy the photos, comments welcome....opinions on the longer loop please.
    Best regards,
    Nick"

Fully drilled out loop eye (poorly finished) with unusual long loop:-

Came together with a very long ribbon. Last photo shows my spare case finally filled.
          Regards, Nick.

            Hi Steve / Nick.

            Very nice RK. Congrats!
I see the same type of loop as in my RK!
Poor execution, but as you can see the specific beauty!

            Best regards.

Very nice Nick, congratulations on a super RK!!
The heavily flawed frame and drilled out loop eye, should point to it being a slightly later variant?
The longer style of suspension loop is not unusual, and many earlier S&L's have this, often on vet worn examples!
Goes with the case very well, to make a super set!!
Thanks for showing, both you and Steve!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the comments guys and thanks to Steve for uploading the pics!

@ Maciej; Love the patina on your example, she's a keeper!

@ Nigel; Yes the longer loop is something we've discussed before in the 'vets wearing their 57ers' thread, I think Tom mentioned it there? Though there aren't many of this type being posted? They only seem to be available for a short time period?

                Best regards,
                Nick

                  Hi Nick!
I remember Luud had a few, and most if not all of his RK's were vet owned/ worn, with many being attributed!!
